2007 BMW (E64) M6 Convertible
This 2007 BMW M6 Convertible (E64) is a three-owner and low-mileage example of a modern classic BMW, presenting in a desirable colour combination. Under the bonnet is a 5.0-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine which outputs 373kW/520Nm to the rear wheels. This Australian-delivered example is fitted with a seven-speed automatic transmission. It currently shows 45,701km on its odometer.
Following 16 years on from the original BMW M6 of the late 80s, the E64-generation BMW M6 is a unique revival which incorporates several new technologies and a higher performance envelope. Using a sonorous V10 engine derived from BMW’s F1 efforts, the second-generation M6 was designed by a young Italian designer named Davide Arcangeli under Adrian van Hooydonk and Chris Bangle’s supervision. Arcangeli sadly passed away just days after the iconic design was approved by BMW, but his legacy lives on to this day whenever you see a uniquely-styled E64 M6 Convertible. Part of the M6 Convertible’s design incorporates unconventional side fins and an integrated wind deflector which can be raised/lowered at any time. While only imported to Australia in short supply, the E64 M6 is looked upon today with cult classic status.
Finished in the unique BMW colour Sepang Bronze on the outside, this car also selects an Ivory leather-upholstered interior. The car features a black soft-top roof and subtle chrome trimming in areas such as the grille and side reflectors. The owner assures this car is all-original, having no aftermarket modifications to take away from its as-delivered specification. The car rides on a set of 19-inch M alloy wheels wrapped in Kumho Ecsta tyres.
Built in the first half of 2007 and complied new in Australia in August 2007, this M6 was delivered new through Canberra BMW. It has since passed through the hands of three owners, with the seller having acquired the car in February 2020. Most servicing has been completed through official BMW outlets, though the current owner has opted to have it serviced by specialist independents SouthernBM. There is a gap in the service booklet between 2011 and 2019 where servicing history is unknown. The last service was completed in April 2022.
Exterior condition of this E64 BMW M6 is good for its age. The Sepang Bronze paintwork has been kept clear of too much paint damage, though signs of chipping and surface scratches are observed in various areas. Some hologramming is seen on the doors which signifies this car could benefit from a detail. There is gravel rash on the side sills, scratches and stone chips to the rear bumper, as well as scratches on the left-hand door and rear quarter panel. The rear left wheel displays some curb rash, though the remaining wheels appear in good condition. Tyres show a decent amount of tread.
Interior-wise, this car has been kept in good condition. It appears cleanly overall without obvious discolouration to the Ivory leather, though some stress marks are seen on the bolsters. The seat shape itself has held up well to consistent use. Carpeting and headlining shows without obvious wear or staining, while the fabric roof is kept in good order. Some scratching is seen on the steering wheel BMW badge.
This car will come with full documentation, two keys, tool kit, and touch-up paint.
