2005 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

This 2005 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is an Australian-delivered example of a underrated Prancing Horse, presented in unique Rosso Scuderia. Under the bonnet is a naturally-aspirated 5.7-litre V12 engine which sends 397kW/588Nm through the rear wheels. This car specifies a six-speed automated manual transmission. The odometer currently displays 48,841km.

The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is an executive four-seat grand tourer which replaced the earlier Ferrari 456. Its Pininfarina design draws inspiration from post-war Ferraris such as the 375 MM. Despite being a coupe, the Ferrari 612 contains enough space in the back seats for adults to sit comfortably. The grand touring nature of the car preferences highway driving over a sporting character, however there’s no shortage of performance out of the big V12 engine shared with the 575 Superamerica. The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti was often written off as one of the least desirable Ferrari models of its era, but it’s now enjoying a resurgence as enthusiasts come to appreciate its unique styling and beautifully appointed interior.

Painted in the quintessential Ferrari hue of Rosso Scuderia and upholstered with requisite tan leather, this Ferrari’s colour combination mistakes it for nothing else. There are no obvious aftermarket modifications to taint its original specification, aside from an updated aftermarket head unit which allows for Bluetooth connectivity. The car rides on a set of 18-inch five-spoke Ferrari wheels which hide a set of red brake calipers. Wheels are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tyres.

This car was manufactured in Italy and delivered new to Australia through Barbagallo Ferrari in Perth. The current owner purchased the car through the same dealership 18 months ago; it is now a three-owner car overall. It was last serviced in 2019. The car has undergone a recent health check which highlighted adequate levels of clutch and brake remaining. The car is in need of a major service to replace the timing belt, air con regas, boot struts regas, and a mild weep from power steering lines. Its battery has started to weaken with limited use by the current owner. The car’s washer bottle cap is missing.

On the outside this 612 shows in good order overall, with obvious care taken to keep this car in good shape. The Rosso Scuderia paint displays fair reflections in the sunlight, though some areas have lost their lustre and would benefit from a proper detail. There are some points of stone chipping on the front end and there’s a scuff mark on the bumper’s right-hand side. A chip is identified on the roof, while a paint chip/scuff is noted on the rear bar. Some marks of kerb rash are seen on the wheels, noted around the very outer of the rim. Tyres appear with a good amount of tread remaining.

Inside the cabin this car appears in great order. The tan leather upholstery displays minimal marks of sagging or creasing, while the seats themselves retain a good shape. Carpeting appears in unstained condition without tears, and door cards appear without damage. Repeated use marks are seen around the gear shifter, and the car is starting to exhibit the common sticky button phenomenon.

This car will come with a suite of supporting delivery documentation, service books and a car cover.
