2000 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph
This 2000 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph is a stately limousine presenting in remarkable condition and a desirable specification. It is powered by a 5.4-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine which outputs 240kW/490Nm though a five-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Though not focused on performance, the Silver Seraph was designed to run from zero to 100km/h in a brisk 7.0 seconds, with a maximum top speed of 225km/h. The odometer on this example currently shows 56,259km.
The Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph was designed over a decade and brought the historic British marque into the 21st century. Various aspects were shared with the then Bentley Arnage, but where the latter used a twin-turbo V8, the Rolls was fitted with a V12 engine befitting of its luxury positioning. Meticulous craftsmanship defines the Silver Seraph; 150 hours of work went into producing the walnut veneer alone, and more than 10 Connolly cowhides are used in the luxurious leather upholstery. This is the best way to get into a modern Rolls-Royce at an attractive price point. This was one of the world’s best cars of its era and is extremely limited – only 1,570 were produced.
Finished in a metallic blue over a grey leather interior, this Silver Seraph retains all of its original trimmings which look resplendent to this day. The burl walnut accenting, chrome detailing, and plush carpets define the interior specification of this car, while the exterior makes a statement with 16-inch chrome wheels with whitewall tyres. Of course, every part of this Silver Seraph is covered in high-end materials and the specification list includes powered memory seats, power mirrors, parking sensors, six-disc CD stacker, power blinds, and auto-levelling air suspension.
This example is a three-owner car, having first been built in Crewe, England in September 1999 and delivered new to Australia in early 2000. Servicing has been completed through Bentley Melbourne as was customary with the Silver Seraph. The most recent service was completed in 2018, though the car has only travelled 1,500km since that time. A full suite of servicing books and two keys will accompany the sale.
The exterior of this Rolls-Royce is in impeccable condition given its age, the only imperfection is an extremely minor scratch on the rear bumper, along with a minor chip. It has enjoyed the utmost of care throughout its ownership. The metallic blue finish still reflects nicely and changing hues in different light. A thorough detail could bring out the best, though the paint presents finely as is. All exterior chrome finishing shines beautifully in the sun without oxidation and the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy sits in pride of place over the Rolls-Royce grille. No curb damage can be seen on any of the four wheels while an adequate amount of tread depth remains.
The interior of this Rolls-Royce has held up well over the years, very little wear and tear can be seen throughout the cabin. Some minor stress marks and creasing can be seen on the leather of the front seats but next to no signs of scratching or marks can be found on the walnut trim. The boot struts need attention as they are not holding full pressure, which is almost expected, given the vehicles age. The luxurious, plush carpet retains its original high pile shag. All interior functionality is understood to operate as it left the factory and no dash warning signs show in the cluster.
