2000 Porsche (986) Boxster - 46,025km

This 2000 Porsche Boxster (986) is a low-kilometre example of Porsche’s iconic roadster, and features a full Porsche Melbourne service history. A mid-mounted 2.7-litre naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engine outputs 162kW (217hp) to the rear wheels. The transmission in this car is a five-speed Tiptronic automatic. The odometer currently displays 46,025km.

The Porsche designation 986 concerns the first-generation Porsche Boxster which was introduced in 1996. It was the brand’s first dedicated roadster since the 550 Spyder of the 1950s, and brought a mid-mounted flat-six engine. It also shared development with the 996-generation 911 which allowed Porsche to climb out of financial deficit and return to profitability. As an entry-level sports car of the Porsche line-up, the Boxster represents a great opportunity to have the iconic Porsche driving experience at an affordable price point. Plus, it comes in a stylish mid-engined, soft-top design. Boxsters today are revered as some of the best-balanced sports cars you can buy, and continue to feature high-revving, naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engines.

This example is painted in silver on the outside and features a black-upholstered interior. The soft-top roof is black fabric, and the amber indicators show this is an early example. No aftermarket modifications are listed alongside this car, and it’s understood to retain its as-delivered colour combination. A set of original 17-inch Porsche alloy wheels remain on this car; they come wrapped in Continental ContiMaxContact tyres.

Built new in Zuffenhausen, Germany, this Porsche Boxster was delivered new to Australia. It is understood to be a two-owner car since new, with the previous owner holding the car for the majority of its life. The seller indicates all servicing has been undertaken by Porsche Melbourne.

Exterior condition shows next to no marks of damage. The silver paintwork displays in excellent order throughout and retains nice gloss and reflections in the light. There are no scratches or marks to body panels, aside from under the front bar. The soft-top roof still pulls taut over the cabin and no major signs of wear and tear are seen. Wheels appear to be in excellent condition given the car’s age, though some minor scratching is seen on the front left. Tyres appear to retain a good level of tread.

The cabin displays similarly well, as evidenced through this car’s low mileage. The black upholstery has escaped without significant wear and tear or creasing, while the dash fascia also appears without damage. Signs of scratching and scuffing is seen at touch points such as the door handles, seat controls, and door padding. Minor wear and tear is seen on the centre console plastic, though the instrumentation buttons on the dash have not worn down.

This car will come with service books and two keys.
