2000 MV Agusta F4 750 Serie Oro - 10km

This 2000 MV Agusta F4 750 Serie Oro is a limited edition, low-kilometre example of a superbike icon. It is powered by a four-cylinder, four-stroke 749cc engine which produces 94kW (126hp). Power is sent through a six-speed transmission. This bike revs-out to 13,300rpm and it weighs just 179kg. Its odometer shows just 10km.

The MV Agusta F4 Series was the superbike model that relaunched the MV Agusta brand in the late 1990s. The Italian manufacturer went on to create a number of revisions and special editions over the next 19 years, but the story started with the F4 750 Serie Oro. This variant was revealed at the 1997 Milan Motorcyle Show and production was limited to 300 examples which were all pre-sold. Through development, MV Agusta consulted the Ferrari Formula One team to help design the engine. The bike itself uses specialised metals including magnesium for components such as the swing arm, frame side plates and wheels. These parts are anodized in gold, in-keeping with the “Serie Oro” name. Painted areas are all carbon fibre underneath, helping to keep the entire package lightweight.

A traditional red and silver livery adorns this F4 750 Serie Oro, with a black single seat and gold-anodized componentry. There are no obvious aftermarket modifications made to this bike and it is understood to retain its original paint scheme. The bike also features a 24-carat gold badge with the serial number on – this example being number 219 of 300. The bike rides on a set of 17-inch gold alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli tyres.

This bike was built in Italy in late 1999 and it has had two owners over the past five years. The bike sits as a display piece with its current owner, and no servicing has taken place under the current owner’s custodianship. As such, the original battery is flat and the bike would require a full mechanical inspection (with fluid change) if the new owner chooses to ride it.

The F4’s condition is in very good order for its age and considered care has been taken to keep it in good shape. The paintwork shows a nice shine in the light and you can even see feint carbon fibre patterning underneath from some angles. Exposed carbon fibre elements are polished to a glossy finish, while the gold components display no damage. There are some small paint chips on the lower fairing edge and some minor transportation damage is seen. Wheel paint shows in average condition and could be repainted to bring this bike back to concours condition.

This F4 750 Serie Oro will come with all accompanying documentation, a paddock stand, two keys, and a complete tool kit.
