THE AUCTION IS UNDER PROXY BIDDING
1994 Nissan Skyline (R32) GT-R
This 1994 Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) is a late-build, unmodified example. Under the bonnet is a twin-turbocharged 2.6-litre straight-six engine which develops 206kW/353Nm. Power is sent to an all-wheel-drive system through a five-speed manual transmission. This Japanese import car currently displays 73,425km on the odometer.
The third-generation R32 GT-R reignited Nissan’s performance car-building reputation and was born out of Group A motorsport participation. The two-door coupe is best known in Australia among car-modding circles and for its involvement in the Australian Touring Car Championship. With its turbocharged straight-six engine, all-wheel traction, and high-tech electronics it dominated the local motorsports scene and notably took back-to-back wins at Bathurst through 1991 and 1992. This show of force prompted a “dumbing-down” of the series in favour of the Aussie-favourite formula which paired a V8 engine with rear-wheel drive. This unfortunately relegated the GT-R to the Australian motorsport history books and out of competition. However the GT-R has come back into the limelight as a desirable performance car classic and imported examples are prime for enjoyment, rather than investment.
Finished in the popular Gun Grey metallic with a black-and-blue-seat interior combination, this R32’s specification is sure to appeal to all. The highlight of this example is its unmodified condition and original parts which earn it a big tick on the used car market with the exception of an aftermarket Panasonic head unit which is a common addition. The car rides on a set of original 16-inch grey alloys with Supercat tyres.
This car was built new in one of the final 1994 production runs and was delivered new within Japan. It was imported to Australia in 2009 and the current owner believes it’s a three-owner car. It was purchased by the current owner three years ago. Since coming to Australia the car has been repainted and had new door and window seals fitted. It’s currently used sparingly; on weekends only. The owner notes it runs in great condition and has used genuine Nissan parts in maintenance.
The exterior presentation has been kept in very good condition. The repainted Gun Grey metallic paintwork displays in great order with minimal sign of scratching or dents. Some scraping can be seen on the left-hand side lower bumper portion. There’s also a small stone chip on the rear mud flap. All four wheels are unmarked of kerb rash and the tyres show a good level of tread depth.
Inside the cabin there are marginally more signs of use, though it still shows in good condition overall. Seats display without fraying or damage, but there is some discolouration of the fabric consistent with use. The driver’s seat was replaced due to damage. Carpeting and door trims appear in good condition. Leather of the steering wheel, gear shifter, and handbrake shows scratching and wear. Some plastics have worn such as the indicator stalk.
An original owner’s manual will be supplied, as will a single key, original spare wheel, and first aid kit.
