1993 Toyota Supra SZ Aerotop

This 1993 Toyota Supra SZ Aerotop is a tastefully-modified modern classic JDM hero and boasts a long list of aftermarket modifications. Originally delivered new with a non-turbo 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, this car is now converted to a single-turbo setup which produces 357kW (480hp) at the rear wheels. It is fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox. The odometer currently displays 188,541km.

Most people know that the Toyota Supra reached wide appeal after The Fast and the Furious but fewer people understood how highly regarded it was held in underground tuner circles. The fourth-generation Supra is arguably the most iconic iteration and is known for its ability to hold over 1000hp reliably. It’s a sports car which punched well above its weight grade in period, notably competing against far more expensive contemporaries such as Porsche 911s, Aston Martins, and BMW M3s. Not only was it famous on the street, Toyota also took the A80-designated Supra racing in various levels of motorsport, most notably in the Japanese Touring Car Championship where it won the driver’s championship in 1997.

Originally delivered new in Alpine Silver, this car has been repainted to an electric blue and is specified with black upholstery inside. Taking place of the original two seats are a pair of Recaro SR3 ‘Confetti’ upgrades, while an aftermarket Alpine head unit and Sparco shifter are swapped in place of original items. Performance modifications include a Haltech Platinum Series Sport 2000 ECU, T56 six-speed gearbox, Mishimoto dual core radiator, Garrett single turbo, Turbosmart waste gate, Turbosmart eBoost40 boost controller, Turbosmart FPR800 Fuel Pressure Regulator, E85-tuned fuel system, and GE brakes with DBA slotted rotors. The car currently rides on a set of 18-inch Rota wheels wrapped in Federal/Dunlop tyres.

This car was built in July 1993 and delivered new to Japan in 1994. It was imported to Australia in 1998 by a previous owner and was modified to its current standard by a previous owner after 2016. It has travelled less than 1000km in its current ownership which has lasted six months. The seller notes it has run just over 10,000km since its engine was rebuilt. The seller also notes the Haltech ECU is locked and requires a re-tune from scratch in order to change any ECU settings. Recent works include a new 110a alternator fitted in November 2021 (Otaku Garage Lawnton, QLD).

Exterior presentation of this Supra is very good – it has been fully-resprayed at some point. The blue paintwork glosses beautifully in the light and displays no overt marks of scratching or chipping, while the associated trims show in good order. There appears to be some minor stone chipping on the front bar, and the seller notes a scratch on the targa top roof. All four wheels show no curb damage and the tyres display a decent level of tread depth.

Interior-wise, this car has been preserved fairly well. The Recaro seats show in good condition without tears or fabric scuffing, while trims inside appear to have been taken care of. Some signs of wear and tear are observed in areas such as the door cards, while the dash is seen lifting above the air vents. The car’s hands-free audio system is not working.

To the best of the sellers knowledge, this listing is accurate and not misleading in anyway. As per Trading Garage’s Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage have completed the following checks, bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research, they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars. This vehicle is currently registered in Queensland until 13/9/22 and there are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number. It is not recorded as stolen or written off.
