1967 MGB GT MKI

This 1967 MGB GT Mark I is a tidily-refurbished British classic sports car presenting in a desirable specification. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine which sends 71kW (95hp) to the rear wheels. This example is paired with a four-speed manual transmission without overdrive. It currently shows 60,624km on the odometer.

Think British sports car and it’s likely that the MGB comes to mind. That’s how ingrained this little model has become when talking sports coupes, and it’s a reputation that holds to this day. During its 18-year production it was widely popular in all worldwide markets and it’s known for being the most successful sports car of all time. The MGB GT is the Pininfarina-designed coupe hard-top version, which paired a fixed roof with a hatchback rear end, aiding practicality and increasing the MGB’s torsional rigidity. Not only is the MGB GT revered for its entertaining drive, but its enclosed body is handy for storing items and makes weekends away easier. The MGB GT is desirable today for its mechanical simplicity, parts availability, and stylish design.

Painted in Tartan Red on the exterior, this MGB GT’s specification sports a black vinyl-upholstered cabin with red piping. The exterior is also accented by chrome trim and badging. It still presents largely in its original specification and no obvious aftermarket additions are observed. The car currently rides on a set of 14-inch chrome wire wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Supercat tyres.

This MGB GT was built in 1967. It was resprayed 10 years ago in Tartan Red and its interior was completely redone last year. New tyres were also fitted at this time.

Body condition displays in great order with no observable dents or scratches. Its red paintwork shows in beautiful condition with true reflections and no swirl marks, while the chrome trimming is polished and clean. All badging and exterior componentry is in complete and good condition. The four wheels show in polished condition and no signs of curb rash are seen, while the Bridgestone tyres are near-new and retain a good amount of tread.

Interior-wise, this cabin shows in restored and reupholstered condition with vinyl-upholstered seats that retain their original shapes. The door cards, headliner and carpeting are all clean and unmarked. The dash displays some slight signs of wear and tear, but nothing that would be considered out of the ordinary for this car’s age. The seller notes the car’s gauges and instrumentation all functions as normal.

This car will be supplied with an extensive file of invoices and receipts.
